Very cool. Also is this the book store that Mumford & Sons did their book shop sessions in? It looks familiar.

So lovely
Communion Records artists Michael Kiwanuka, Ben Howard with his band, India and Chris, Ben Lovett, The Staves and Johannes from Bear’s Den jam to John Martyn’s “Over The Hill.” Filmed at Cacophony Recorders in Austin, Texas during SXSW 2012.
This is terrific! Do yourself a favor and watch, and you can also click here for a photo from the recording session.
I’m dying to see this
Mumford and Sons at their taping of Austin City Limits on April 25, 2011, which will air on October 1st.

This brings back some great memories! @buhbeesgirl I’m so glad we got to see this together. Watching the video, I couldn’t help but yell “Jake Gyllenhaal on the trumpet!” All the fun the bands are having on stage is so damn infectious. Can’t help but get a smile on your face.
Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! This is from RRT NoLa!!!!
A Railroad Revival video I’m sharing with you for some close-ups on Winnie’s crazy face, Ben accordion-ing from the floor and dancing briefly with another member of the tour, and because it’s Mumford & Sons and you don’t mind, do you?

Words can’t express how amazing tonight was. I cried several times. If you’ve never seen City and Colour live, do it. You won’t regret it. They are even more amazing live than on cd. I’m forever grateful for this band and for being blessed with ears that can savor such amazing talent. Today, today I experienced true happiness.
I was there, too. The above words totally sum up my experience as well. I want to end every night listening to Dallas sing to me. It’s not just his soulful voice, but the lyrics as well. Pure talent.

As some of you might know, I live in Austin, Texas. As some of you might also know, there is currently a horrific wildfire that is devastating Bastrop, about 25-30 miles southeast of Austin. There are also other sizable wildfires in Spicewood and Leander, and many other flare ups in and around the Austin and central Texas area.
The Bastrop fire has already completely destroyed over 714 homes, and over 45,000 acres of land. To put that in perspective, the amount of land burned is roughly the size of the state of Connecticut. The other fires around Austin and central Texas have also ripped through hundreds of acres of land and destroyed people’s homes as well.
So far no one has been killed in central Texas as a result of the fire, but around 5,000 people have been evacuated, and some people have literally lost everything. Even if you don’t live in Austin or central Texas, please consider donating to help the evacuees and the firefighters who are currently trying to get these fires under control.
If you live in Austin or central Texas, here are websites that list ways to donate food, clothing, or other supplies:
I know this blog is about art, but thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this.
oh my god Austin ;A;
My cousin is currently on his 3rd day of battling the Bastrop fire as a volunteer fireman. He’s watched 50 ft high flames, 100 yards wide cross State Hwy 71 like it wasn’t even there. He’s also watched much wildlife and livestock running for their lives and also perishing in the fire. 2 people in Bastrop have now lost their lives. Everyday, my cousin and his family are on high alert and ready to evacuate their home in Smithville. It kills me to think that the gorgeous drive from Houston to Austin down Hwy 71 has been scorched.
My other cousin’s aunt lost her home to the fire on Monday and her dad was evacuated the same day from his home in La Grange. He has yet to find out if his house is still standing. That same cousin, who is currently a student at UT, is now taking donations to be delivered to Smithville and Bastrop on the coming weekends. She has many friends who have lost homes.
I continue to pray for my family and friends who live in this area of TX. I have a cousin in Giddings and an Aunt/Uncle and cousin in Caldwell that are all keeping an eye on the fires and other fire dangers. We’ve now got large fires closer to Houston in the town of Magnolia and others have cropped up even inside Houston’s Beltway 8. Not surprising considering about a 1/4 of all trees are completely dead due to the drought. There’s no rain on the radar for at least the next 10 days. It’s really scary to think that things may get much worse before they get better.
Sorry for the long post, these fires are really hitting close to home and are constantly on my mind.
